Surf city here we come

Life is about getting to surf city. Some might prefer paradise city, but I always felt that’s a place for bored people who just want to hang around. No special skills required to enter paradise city, but to get to surf city at least you have to know how to surf. Not that I like surfing. When I was 14 someone talked me into going on a summer camp where they teach you how to surf. The worst week of my life. Going to surf city to me means you’re not only going to where ever the action is; you’re actually going to contribute to that action. Most bands are constantly on their way to surf city. They just have some trouble reading directions. Or they forget to stop for gas and are running on empty right before the city’s borders. They’ve got their boards all waxed up, they’re in their wetsuits, but all they need is a little help. Someone to give them a few pointers on how to start the car. And that’s exactly what we’re trying to do with this magazine. We don’t have all the answers, but we might be able to show you a shortcut to surf city.

Nah, stupid analogy…
